Terminal Services Temporary Client License Expiration

How can I resolve the warning “Your terminal services temporary client license will expire in x days.”

When connecting to a Windows 2000 Terminal Server with insufficient licenses, you will get a warning when your termporary client license is getting ready to expire.

The warning:

“Terminal Services Warning

Your terminal services temporary client license will expire in x days.
Please contact your system administrator to get a permanent license.”

To resolve the problem follow the steps below:

- Click on Start
- Click on Run
- Type in REGEDIT
- Click on OK
- Expand (Click on the +) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- Expand Software
- Expand Microsoft
- Expand MSLicensing
- Expand Store
- Select each of the LICENSE000 (Name might have different numbers) one at a time
- This will highlight the name
- Click on Delete
- It will ask you “Are you sure you want to delete this key and all of its subkeys?”
- Click on Yes
- After all of the LICENSE keys are deleted click on File
- Click on Exit
- Restart your PC
