Map a FTP Directory
How to map a FTP directory in Windows XP.
People often ask how they can access a FTP server without installing a FTP client. If you are running Windows XP, Windows 2003, etc., the easiest solution is to Map a Network Drive.
1. Open up Windows Explorer
2. Click on Tools
3. Click on Map Network Drive
4. Click on “Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server.”
5. Click on Next
6. Select “Choose another network location.”
7. Type ftp://destination (i.e. ftp://ftpsite.com)
8. Uncheck “Log on anonymously”
9. Type in your username
10. Name the network place (Will show up in explorer as this)
11. Click on Next
12. Open up “My Network Places” by click on Start, “My Network Places”
13. Double click on your connection that you created.
14. Enter your password, and optionally select “Save Password”
