Free up Disk Space

How to clean up your Hard Disk.

After using your PC for a while, certain applications can eat up extra disk space.  The biggest offenders are:

System Restore snapshots
Temporary Internet Files / History
The Recycle Bin

You can free-up the space by running Disk Cleanup utility.  To launch the Disk Cleanup Utility do the following:

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. In the Open box, type cleanmgr
4. click OK
5. Select the drive
6. Select Recycle Bin
7. Select Setup Log Files
8. Select Temporary Files
9. Click OK

To delete old restore points with the exception of the newest point, do the following:

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. In the Open box, type cleanmgr
4. click OK
5. Select the drive
6. Click on More Options
7. Click on Clean up under System Restore
8. Click on Yes
9. Click OK
10. Click on Yes
